Meet Tea Maven, Andrea Roddy of Teas and Toasts. She is a drinker of tea (on the rocks), purveyor of cuteness and hilarity, hobbyist turned entrepreneur, and the mother of two cookie munching whippersnappers. Andrea is still married to her high school sweetheart–he’s her current middle age crush and will, with any luck, be her antique lover.
Andrea’s talents for entertaining started at a young age–she loved tinkering in the kitchen and helping to host family gatherings. Those early days were greatly influenced by her Tea Nan, who fuelled her own thrifting and panache for baking with Red Rose tea, and her father, who instilled in her a love of travel and a military cookery style.
In her teen years, Andrea travelled across North America, the UK, and Western Europe with her father and her sister. She continued to expand her horizons as a young adult, working as a Conservation Area Guide, Floral Designer, Media Production Assistant, a few stints as a Non-Union Actor, and then a 15-year span as an Environmental Scientist and Project Manager–all whilst getting married and starting a family.
Fast forward to 2015, when she took her many transferable skills and turned her passion for antiques, cuisine (baked, brewed and otherwise) and planning special occasions and turned them into Teas and Toasts, an event business specializing in tea time.
Currently, in her spare time, you can find her helping run another family business, at home with her family and fur babies, gardening, and thinking up something fab to go beyond the teacup for fun, fresh and tasty experiences for her clients.
